Hotels in La Lunette, Perpignan from CA $67

While La Lunette offers a great experience, other areas in Occitanie that share a similar appeal for quality and convenience are the historic centres of Uzès and Collioure.

Uzès, a picturesque town in the Gard department, is known for its well-preserved medieval architecture and a relaxed pace of life. The central Place aux Herbes, a beautiful arcaded square, is the heart of the town, hosting a renowned Saturday market. The Duchy of Uzès, a historic castle, stands prominently, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

Couples looking for a refined and tranquil escape will appreciate Uzès. Its cobbled streets are great for leisurely strolls, discovering artisan shops and charming cafes. The town is also a great base for exploring the Pont du Gard and the vineyards of the region.

Collioure, located on the Vermilion Coast in the Pyrénées-Orientales, is a coastal town celebrated for its artistic heritage and stunning harbour. The Royal Castle of Collioure, located between two bays, dominates the waterfront, and the iconic Notre-Dame-des-Anges church with its bell tower is a focal point. The town's narrow streets are full of galleries and restaurants.

For those who enjoy a blend of cultural exploration and seaside relaxation, Collioure is an excellent choice. Its beautiful beaches, clear waters, and coastal walks appeal to travellers seeking both activity and downtime.

The best time to visit La Lunette is during late spring (May to June) or early autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

During these shoulder seasons, you'll experience comfortable temperatures, ideal for exploring the rolling hills and vineyards of Occitanie without the intense heat of mid-summer. The countryside is particularly picturesque, with spring blossoms or autumn colours adding to the scenery. This is superb for couples seeking a tranquil and romantic getaway, as the milder weather allows for leisurely walks and outdoor dining experiences.

Families might find the summer months of July and August more suitable, particularly if they plan to enjoy activities around the local lakes or rivers. While it can be warmer, the longer daylight hours and school holidays make it a convenient time for family travel.
